This year, a week of programs and performances on and by Asian and Pacific Island People will be presented at UCLA, April 9 – 12 and 21.

UCLA Alumni and Friends of Japanese Ancestry (AJA) have initiated a campaign to raise $250,000 for the purpose of establishing the first Endowed Chair in Japanese American Studies.
A total of five career-exploration sessions were held this past quarter with approximately 20 women students participating.
A group of graduate students on campus has recently registered with campus program and Activities Office (CPAO) under the name of Asian American Studies Graduate Student Association (AASGSA).
Two additional presentations in the Asian American Studies Center’s “Asians in America” colloquium have been scheduled.
A research group (kenkyukai) of graduate students and instructors studying the history of Japanese in America was formed in the middle of Fall quarter and has been meeting on a regular basis.
