AASC Welcomes New Faculty to UCLA!



The Center is proud to welcome three new faculty members at UCLA whose work is connected to Asian American and Pacific Islander Communities. They are: Cindy Sangalang of Cal State Los Angeles, Lee Ann Wang of the University of Washington, and Evyn Lê Espiritu of UC Berkeley. Dr. Sangalang and Dr. Wang have joint appointments in Social Welfare and Asian American Studies. Dr. Sangalang's work focuses on health and well-being in immigrant and refugee populations, while Dr. Wang is an expert on legal narratives addressing the intersection of gender, immigration and violence in Asian American communities. Dr. Lê Espiritu will also be joining the Asian American Studies Department and her work engages critical refugee studies, settler colonial studies, and transpacific studies.
