Who is Park Joo Young?
Director: Beth Kopacz
Who is Park Joo Young? reflects on Robyn Schultz's personal quest for identity, family, and belonging within shifting conceptions of kinship and home. Against the heartache and struggle of birth family search and reunion, her pursuit for answers attests to broader conflicts and consequences that arise in the wake of the transnational, transracial Korean adoption system.
Queer, Undocumented & Unafraid
Directors: Alexandra Margolin and Judy Lu
Queer, Undocumented & Unafraid provides a brief glimpse into the life of Imelda Plascencia a strong Chicana woman. A recent graduate of UCLA who identifies as both Queer and Undocumented, Imelda faces the daily struggles of identifying with two stigmatized communities. The documentary offers a window into both the challenges and triumphs in working toward immigration reform and highlights the empowerment that comes with self acceptance.
