"Makin' Do or Making Anew"

Marjorie Kagawa Singer is Professor of Community Health Sciences and Asian American Studies and member of the Center for Health Policy Research, the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center and the UCLA Asia Institute. Her research focuses on the etiology and elimination of disparities in physical and mental health care outcomes for communities of color, primarily with the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. A major focus of her work is on testing the cross-cultural validity of health behavior theories and measures, and the implications of these differences for research, clinical care and community practice.
