Conducted under the sponsorship of the Japanese American Citizens League, JARP was a socio-historical research project which began in 1962 and lasted until 1972.

This annotated bibliography is the sequel to two other bibliographies on JARP (Yuji Ichioka et al’s A Buried Past: An Annotated Bibliography of the Japanese American Research Project Collection (1974) and Fading Footsteps of the Issei: An Annotated Checklist of the Manuscript Holdings of the Japanese American Research Project Collection (1992)by Yasuo Sakata) covers all Japanese-language sources added to the JARP collection since 1973 until 1999.
