Stewart Kwoh is the President and Executive Director of the Asian Pacific American Legal Center of Southern California (APALC). APALC is the largest and most diverse legal assistance and civil rights organization targeting Asian Pacific Americans in the United States. APALC provides services for over 15,000 individuals per year including those who seek to become U.S. citizens and who seek relief from domestic violence or cutoffs from government benefits, as well as represents victims of hate violence and workers who are exploited by sweatshops.
In 1998, Stewart Kwoh was named a MacArthur Foundation Fellow, the first Asian American attorney and human rights activist to receive this award.

Let's take a lesson from recent American history, from a pivotal event that galvanized the Asian American community into action and ultimately led me to establish the Asian Pacific American Legal Center (APALC) of Southern California in 1983.
