The 2020 census will NOT ask for your citizenship status.

If you for whatever reason do not feel comfortable sharing your name or the names of members in your place of residence, you can write "Person 1," "Person 2," "Person 3," etc. in their place.

The census will NEVER ask questions regarding your credit card, social security number, or any other private financial information.

If you are not sure whether a census taker is an official enumerator, you can look for their official census badge with the Department of Commerce watermark and expiration date. You can also do an online Census Staff Search or call your Regional Census Centers to verify the enumerator's identity.
