Oiyan Poon (Administrative/Community/Legislative Liaison) is a graduate assistant to
the UC AAPI MRP. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the subdivision of Race & Ethnic Studies in the Division of Social Sciences and Comparative Education at UCLA's Graduate School of Education & Information Studies, with a graduate concentration in Asian American Studies. Her research interests include Asian Americans and the racial politics of education, racial diversity and equity in higher education, school integration policy, and immigrant parent involvement in schooling. Prior to enrolling at UCLA, she served as the first Director of Asian Pacific American Student Affairs at George Mason University and as the first Student Affairs Officer in Asian American Studies at UC Davis.
Christina Lee (Faculty Liaison) is a senior undergraduate student at UCLA. She is double majoring in Psychology and Asian American Studies. She was an intern for the K. W. Lee Center for Leadership in the summer of 2006, where she had hands-on experience with community organizing and learned about leadership and the Korean American community. She is currently also working as an assistant to UCLA’s Asian American Studies Center Nexus Journal. She is also involved as the Academic Affairs Coordinator for the student organization, Asian Pacific Coalition of UCLA and the Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies Undergraduate Student Association.
Richard Manirath (Creative Director) is a junior undergraduate student at UCLA. He is majoring in Art with an Asian American Studies minor. He was the Delta Terrace Program Assistant and is currently the Hedrick Hall Resident Assistant for the Office of Residential Life. In the future, he hopes to become a successful artist or photographer.
Christine Corrales (Events Coordinator) is a recent graduate of UCLA. She received her B.S. in Anthropology and a minor in Asian American Studies. She was the former president of the student organization, Samahang Pilipino. In the future, she hopes to become a professor.
