Biographical Information

Irene Suico Soriano is a writer, videomaker and independent curator born in the Philippines. She was raised 1/2 her life in Manila and further nurtured and strengthened in the LA neighborhoods of Rampart/Temple, Hollywood, Glendale and Silverlake. She is a recipient of the 2000 PEN Center USA West Emerging Voices Rosenthal Fellowship and her poems have appeared in, among others, Philippines Free Press, Solidarity Journal, the LA Enkanto: In Our Blood CD, Flippin': Filipinos on America (AAWW), Babaylan: An Anthology of Filipina and Filipina American Writers (Aunt Lute) and Short Fuse: The Global Anthology of New Fusion Poetry (Rattapallax Press).
