UCLA Asian American Studies Center Reading Room/Library
FRIENDS OF THE READING ROOM

Dedicated to the supporting growth of the nation's leading repository of resources and materials on the Asian Pacific American Experience. The Library's collection forms the nexus of an invaluable resource for students, scholars, researchers, and the community.

As an integral part of the UCLA Asian American Studies Center, the Library/Reading Room welcomes all community users seeking information and resources on Asian and Pacific Island Americans.

The library's collection contains over 5,000 books and monographs, along with rare and unique collections of popular and scholarly magazines, 'zines, journals, and ethnic community newspapers from across the nation.

WHO WE ARE

For more than three decades, the UCLA Asian American Studies Center Library has been acknowledged as the nation's leading repository of resources and materials on the Asian Pacific American experience. With the leadership of a knowledgeable and dedicated staff, more than 5,000 bound volumes, including rare and unique collections of books, academic papers, community newspapers, personal annotations and histories have been archived. The L/RR collections form the nexus of print and digital resources for students, scholars, and researchers.

The need for these resources in print and accessible formats (print, digital, and online) mirrors both the dramatic increase in Asian Pacific American populations and growing interest in this dynamic community from scholars and researchers around the world. Your partnership in developing more convenient and innovative resources for research will facilitate greater access and ensure presentation of the AA and PI experience.

WHAT WE DO
