Video: After The World Had Changed

Dr. Yamazaki will recount the horrific experiences of ordinary Japanese individuals who were themselves maimed by the bomb or who lost family members "after the world had changed."  Buildings, trees, schools, hospitals, and other structures appeared to have vaporized or burnt entirely in the ensuing fires that followed the atomic blast--the closer to the bomb's center, the more total the destruction.
